Although fans of the Prancing Horse may have slightly lost their appetite since the company announced its first EV, one can’t deny the time-honored legacy Ferrari has forged over the years. To celebrate it, Montblanc once again joins forces with the Maranello marque, following their previous collaborations, including the Great Characters editions of 2021 and 2025 and the Stilema SP3 (2023), now extending the partnership to the Great Masters series, marking the first of its kind with the Italian manufacturer.
The new Montblanc Meisterstück Great Masters Ferrari Classica unites the core values of both brands, like craftsmanship and innovation, and draws inspiration from the very beginnings of Ferrari bespoke commissions offered back in the 1950s and ’60s, when clients could request bespoke trims, fabrics, and paint finishes.
Just as Montblanc has always sought to provide its clientele with a deeply personal experience, one that transcends ownership and celebrates craftsmanship and identity, Ferrari did the same in its early days and reaffirmed this philosophy in 2011 with the introduction of its modern Tailor Made program.

Within this program, there are three collections inspired by Ferrari’s DNA: Scuderia (racing spirit), Inedita(innovation), and Classica, the latter rooted in the marque’s grand touring heritage. Under Classica, details such as mahogany or walnut finishes, hand-stitched natural saddle leather, brushed aluminum accents, and iconic color palettes like Rosso Barchetta and Grigio Ingrid evoke the timeless charm of Ferrari’s golden era.
Ever since its introduction, this bespoke service has transformed the customer experience into a journey through Ferrari’s archives and materials, seamlessly blending tradition with cutting-edge technology. It’s this same devotion to heritage and individuality that defines the new Montblanc × Ferrari Great Masters edition—a writing instrument born from a shared philosophy of timeless craftsmanship and bespoke excellence.
The Collection
At first glance, the pen’s wooden parts instantly remind me of the 250 GT models—cars that carried such unmistakable character, with their elegant proportions and mahogany steering wheels. In fact, according to Montblanc, the pen’s lacquered wood body was inspired by the steering wheels of Ferrari’s legendary Gran Turismo sports cars. The barrel is adorned with the iconic Prancing Horse, while the Montblanc emblem crowning the cap is reinterpreted in Giallo Modena, a nod to the color of Ferrari’s hometown. Platinum-plated trims frame the composition with understated brilliance, and the finely engraved 18K gold nib ensures a writing experience as smooth and precise as the engines that inspired it.
Beyond the tactile warmth a wooden pen provides, my thoughts turn to the collectors of those rare Ferrari Gran Turismo models—for whom this creation feels almost destined. It’s the kind of object they’ve perhaps been unconsciously searching for: one that quietly completes the collecting experience.
In addition to the fountain pen and rollerball pen, the collection also includes a special notepad featuring a leather cover with the Rampant Horse embossed on the front and the Montblanc emblem applied above it. The back bears the Montblanc logo, while inside, white pages are paired with a black grosgrain page-marker ribbon. Dimensions: 150 × 210 × 18 mm.
Collectors can also opt for a Notepad Envelope crafted in leather, with a snap-button closure adorned with the Montblanc emblem. The front is embossed with the Rampant Horse, while the interior includes two card compartments, two document compartments, and a dedicated leather pen holder. Dimensions: 150 × 210 × 18 mm.
