It’s been 70 years since 21 drivers lined up at Silverstone for the world’s first Formula One World Championship race. To celebrate this important milestone, Montegrappa has teamed up with F1 to release a special edition pen that that celebrates the very best of Formula 1’s past and present.

To mark 70 years, Montegrappa has gone further than ever before – and created something truly special.
The Montegrappa F1 70 is one of the most technically complex models ever created by the brand from Bassano del Grappa. To celebrate F1’s history of innovation, Montegrappa decided to rebuild the Extra Otto using state-of-the-art technology. The result is a radical fusion of ideas that combines advanced materials and high-calibre design in a writing instrument lighter and stronger than any in its class.
Feather-light, high-tech handling introduces a new dimension to the Extra Otto’s heady mix of Italian design and performance. Titanium and carbon-fibre parts were developed with materials specialists to fit the silhouette’s demanding specifications.
The edition’s specialist construction is accentuated with high-precision ‘ghost’ etching along each of its eight angled sides. Detailing includes official F1 Seventy jubilee-season logos separated by racing stripes, as well as Damascus polishing and tyre-tread patterning. The victor’s chequered flag is incorporated onto a titanium cap band.
The F1 Seventy is a fully official product, endorsed by the sport’s governing body. Racing-red enamel is applied to a debossed F1 logo in the cap top, while the competition’s signature mark also appears on the fountain pen’s nib, ink bottle and deluxe presentation case.
There are only 100 fountain pens and rollerballs in circulation, making the Montegrappa F1 Seventy a trophy in its own right. Made for a competition that personifies the highest levels of physical and technical performance, its quintessentially Italian mindset promises to put you on the front row.
