No one probably expected that Sean Connery’s “Bond, James Bond” line in “Dr. No” (1962) that opened the fascinating series would become one of the most iconic lines in film history, but here we are after 60 years in which the British secret agent’s missions have delighted millions of fans all over the world.
The innovative writing instrument Montegrappa has created could easily be considered a Bond weapon per se. With a cutting-edge design and full of complications, the new Spymaster Fountain Pen is handmade from high-quality machined steel and aluminum and features rifling on both the cap and upper barrel reminiscent of the iconic 007-gun barrel title sequence that has opened every James Bond film, a detail that won’t go unnoticed by avid fans.
The lower barrel is crafted from blackened alloy with a knurled, pistol-grip finish while the false upper barrel houses a set of 007 cufflinks that can be accessed via a special locking mechanism and dummy blind cap.
The main attraction of this edition and the feature that enthusiasts and collectors will absolutely love is the revolutionary Swift-Shot mechanism that turns fountain pen refilling into a soothing ritual. The innovative Swift-shot system offers writers remote filling using high-capacity 007 ‘bullet’ brass ink cartridges. A pair of cartridges comes with an alloy/steel reloading pipette that uses Power-push hydraulic action to fill without spills.
The heart of the pen, an 18k gold nib, is adorned with the James Bond 60th Anniversary logo and is available in extra-fine, fine, medium, broad and Stub 1.1.
