News: Pelikan Introduces the Classic M200 Orange Delight Special Edition

One of my first fountain pens was a Pelikan Classic M200, so I have a special relationship with this series. It has been with me for quite a while and now, although I no longer use it regularly, it rests alongside other instruments in my collection. Seeing the German brand’s announcement recently made me somewhat nostalgic, and I guess I’m not the only one. So let’s find out what Pelikan has prepared and when it will be available to order.

The new special edition comes on a Classic M200 chassis in orange. Pelikan even published the first images and I like the way it looks, it’s a promising design, fresher than the previous Pelikan M200 models. Although the color may seem a little too flashy at first glance, it’s possible that in reality, the color is a little more subdued.

The pen gives me a bit of a demonstrator feel, that because of the semi-translucent barrel. The cap on the other hand is in solid orange, thus creating a nice contrast. I also like the way you can admire the piston mechanism inside. To match the orange, the trim is in gold as well as the gold-plated stainless-steel nib, which can be upgraded to a 14k gold nib using the M400 nib (available separately).

The pen will be launched this month. More information on https://www.pelikan-passion.com/int/
