We believe that a brand that doesn’t innovate loses ground, even more so in today’s world where innovation is essential to survive. It doesn’t always have to be innovations of the nib or filling mechanism, sometimes a change in color or a matte finish instead of a shiny one or vice versa is just fine to change the dynamic a little. It seems that Otto Hutt understands this aspect, which is why they are cooking up something for their fans.
We don’t know much yet but from what they’ve announced so far on their official Instagram account, it looks like it’s an addition to the current design03 series that will expand with a few new colors. If in 2022 the design03 series was enriched with 2 new matte models – Platinum Gray and Ruthenium Gray, this year we expect to see something colorful, and vibrant. We can’t say for sure what the exact colors are but it looks like the nibs will be colored too, much to the delight of fans.
This is not the first colorful approach of the German brand that seems to be taking new directions to cater to as many users as possible, see the limited edition design06 Olive Green and Orange Gold here. As much as we love pens in cool, muted shades, we have to admit that sometimes we wouldn’t mind a splash of color in our lives and these new releases might just be what many of us need.
