SCRIBO Introduces FLOW Origine & Evoluzione: The First Glossy Resin Collection in the Series

Every great achievement of humankind once began as a small idea. Writing follows the very same path: from origin to evolution. Every page starts with a thought that hasn’t fully taken shape yet. It might be a memory, an observation, or a passing idea waiting to be explored. As words fill the page, that first thought gradually changes, develops, and often becomes something far greater than it was at the beginning.

That journey is the inspiration behind SCRIBO’s latest addition to the FLOW collection: FLOW Origine and Evoluzione. Rather than representing two separate ideas, the new fountain pens tell different chapters of the same story.

Beyond the concept itself, the new release also marks the first glossy finish in the series. If you’re familiar with previous FLOW editions, you’ve probably noticed that the collection has, until now, been produced exclusively in ebonite, a material that has become something of a signature for SCRIBO and is appreciated by users for its warm, tactile feel in the hand. Origine and Evoluzione become the first FLOW models crafted from glossy resin, giving the collection an entirely different visual and tactile character.

Although some might see it as a downgrade from ebonite, I’m quite happy with the idea of a glossy finish, especially on this series, and here’s why. You see, as light catches the pen’s 24 facets, it reveals even more depth to the design. Every angle reflects light a little differently, allowing the geometry to come alive in a way that’s constantly changing.

The new material isn’t the only change introduced by the brand. SCRIBO also revisited a few technical details, extending the base by just 2.5 millimetres to create a more harmonious transition between the barrel and the cap. Whether this subtle refinement will be noticeable in everyday use or simply blend into the overall design is something only users will be able to tell.

FLOW Origine is finished in a glossy pastel black resin. The deep black surface recalls the colour of ink and the stillness before the first ideas reach the blank page.

FLOW Evoluzione takes the idea one step further. Its mother-of-pearl green resin shifts as light hits the surface, revealing changing shades and reflections with every movement. Just as no thought remains exactly the same once it is explored on paper, the pen itself never appears quite the same from one angle to another.

Like any SCRIBO fountain pen, both editions are crafted with the same writing-first philosophy in mind. The new finishes may bring a fresh look to the FLOW collection, but the brand’s mission remains unchanged: creating writing instruments that encourage ideas to move naturally from mind to paper.

Production is limited to 140 pieces for FLOW Origine and just 90 pieces for FLOW Evoluzione. Both editions are priced at €729.51 (excluding VAT) and are available through SCRIBO’s official website as well as authorised retailers worldwide.
