Each year, across Japan, nature offers a unique spectacle to locals and visitors alike. Beginning in May, across much of the country, rice fields flooded with water dance gracefully in the wind. The landscape becomes almost mirror-like, reflecting the sky, mountains, and its surroundings.
It is a moment that marks the beginning of a new cycle: nature returns to life, and the first young shoots gently rise from the water. Inspired both by the symbolism of this phenomenon and its visual expression, Sailor creates the new Ripple model.
Made from ebonite in swirling tones of deep green and shadowy black, the Ripple Aoine captures this fleeting moment of emergence, as a new cycle of life begins. Its marbled pattern evokes the gentle rhythm of young rice catching the light above mirrored fields.
Equipped with Sailor’s signature King of Pen 21k nib, available in Medium and Broad, the pen uses a cartridge/converter filling system. Measuring 20 mm in diameter and 153 mm in length, it remains well-balanced in hand, whether used for quick notes or longer writing sessions.
As with previous releases, this edition is presented with an exclusive Paulownia wood case, a converter, an original pen pouch, a cleaning cloth, as well as a fountain pen instruction manual and warranty card.
Limited to just 88 numbered pieces worldwide, the Ripple Aoine Ebonite reflects the idea of a new beginning, serving as a quiet marker of what lies ahead for every writer.
