At Inkstable, we’ve always believed that behind every fine writing instrument lies a story, and behind every collector, from the very first moment, a soul driven by passion. Today, it’s not about a press release, nor about any advice on pens. In fact, I didn’t even want to write this article, because things like this shouldn’t happen. But it seems we still live in a cruel world.

In today’s article, we want to share not just a story, but a moment that calls for solidarity. We are very saddened to hear that just a few days ago, our dear friend and fellow devotee of the writing culture, Guillaume – founder of Watch and Write, a boutique based in Bern, Switzerland, experienced a heartbreaking loss. His store, where he has been carefully and lovingly curating exceptional vintage pens and timepieces for the past 15 years, was broken into. More than 300 pens, a significant part of his inventory, unique pieces with history, beauty, and character, were stolen. 

We’re devastated for Guillaume. Not just because of the material loss, but because Watch and Write represents something truly rare. His boutique isn’t just an ordinary shop, but a carefully curated place he’s built over the years, a space about craftsmanship, where each object has a story, and where visitors can rediscover the slow, intentional beauty of writing and timekeeping. Whether it’s a rare Montblanc 149 from the ’80s or a vintage Cartier Tank, Guillaume sources all the pieces with care and purpose. His vast knowledge and restless passion have brought him this far, and now it’s up to us, those who’ve walked into his boutique or call him a friend, to stand by him in these difficult times.

This loss isn’t just financial, it’s emotional, deeply personal, and strikes at the heart of a project built with love over many years. Rebuilding won’t be easy, but Guillaume is not alone. We believe in the strength of this community and its ability to come together in moments like this. Let’s not allow this project to fade away, let’s show our support!
