LAMY Introduces The Lamy 2000, 58th Anniversary Edition

Among the noisy launches coming from the leaders in the luxury writing instrument industry, LAMY has launched an anniversary edition of the iconic Lamy 2000.

The edition marks a significant milestone for the Bauhaus-inspired design that has remained virtually unchanged since its debut in 1966. Renowned for its minimalist aesthetic and innovative use of materials, the Lamy 2000 has become a favorite among collectors for its timeless design and functionality.

The anniversary edition set consists of a fountain pen and a notebook. The pen is  made of dark green polycarbonate with brushed stainless-steel accents and a polished high gloss clip, thus preserving the materials that have been the essence of the edition from the very beginning, while offering a fresh take on the classic design.

The fountain pen is fitted with a 14k gold nib available in F width and comes along with a DIN B5 notebook of 160 pages appreciated for its120 g/m² paper. Extra features include a folder pocket  and pen loop as well as two practical textile bookmarks. Every pen is individually numbered, and with only 5,058 pieces available worldwide, this jubilee edition is at least interesting to consider for your collection.

Price: €490.00

Although the Lamy 2000 is the brand’s flagship pen, LAMY didn’t bother to give it much credit, and only mentioned it briefly in 2 posts on its official Instagram account. Given that we are talking about an anniversary edition priced at almost €500.00, as a collector myself, I would have liked to have received more explanations on the pen. Considering the global admiration for the Lamy 2000 as a design icon, the subdued release feels like a missed opportunity to celebrate its legacy on a larger scale.
