Sailor’s Commemorative Pen Pays Respects to the Natural Splendor

Sailor has been making some big moves in Japan. Over the past year, they have reconstructed their factory in Kure, Hiroshima to continue to provide a level of service and care that the brand is known for around the globe.

During the reconstruction period, Sailor remodeled some of the buildings on the original factory site, while also expanding the grounds. This reconstruction effort meant that some of the trees on site had to be removed. In keeping with their traditional approach to design and manufacturing, the company has given these trees new life by processing their wood as the barrels of a limited edition set of pens.

Now, these commemorative fountain pens to honor the rebuilding the Hiroshima factory are available for preorder. With a run of only 500 pieces, this Sailor exclusive will surely be a prized possession for any fan of the brand. Due to the nature of the wood, each barrel will have a variation in the grain, making it a truly unique pen. The nib available for this commemorative pen is only available in Medium and is a 21-carat gold nib, based on the first 1911 series’ design.

This pen will be available later this month, January 2023. For more information, contact [email protected]
