Write Her a Handwritten Card This Valentine’s Day

There’s one day left until Valentine’s Day and if you’re still looking for the perfect gift, you might want to take it a little easier. Maybe she doesn’t even want the perfect gift, but rather a little more affection. When was the last time you sent her a handwritten letter? You see dear reader, maybe that will mean more to her than that gift you’re struggling to find. And I don’t want to sound dramatic, but sometimes less is more.

So why don’t you pick out some fine stationery, grab your fountain pen and a nice ink (it doesn’t necessarily have to be red, I personally prefer burgundy) and write your darling a sweet handwritten note. If you want to impress her, you can even use a scented ink, but spraying a nice perfume on the card before putting it in the envelope will work just fine.

Before you start writing, make sure you take a ruler and pencil to draw a few lines on the card to make sure your text comes out neat and tidy. Now comes the creative part where you have to find the sweetest words for her.

Whatever you’re going to write, make sure it comes from the heart. That, of course, takes time and consideration, but that’s the beauty of it. And while it might be helpful to get inspired, don’t get any of those texts off the web, for goodness sake, she deserves better than that, doesn’t she?

Now that you’ve finished writing the letter, it’s time to seal it. It would be preferable to go for the classic method using a stamp and some wax, but if you don’t own such ‘ancient equipment’, you can use modern alternatives as well, though they won’t look as beautiful.
