5 Rappers and their matching pens

Rappers have greatly influenced the way music sounds today with their beats and sometimes controversial lyrics. We also have to admit that many of us have been inspired by the most famous rappers whose music has seen massive success over the years. While the press has often splashed headlines about the impressive watch or jewellery collections owned by various rappers in the industry, there’s not much press about the potential luxury writing instrument collections of rappers who have made history. We can’t say for sure that there are collectors among rappers, but today we give you a selection of 5 pens that would be used/collected by 5 famous rappers.

Post Malone and Richard Mille RM S05 mechanical fountain pen

Many of you may already know about American rapper Post Malone’s impressive collection of luxury watches. Besides the Rolex Daytona Everose Rainbow Daytona estimated at $481,000, or the Patek Phillipe Nautilus 5719/10G – more diamond than watch – covered in 1,343 diamonds and priced at over $700,000, the rapper has several Richard Mille masterpieces in his collection, including the Richard Mille RM-52 Tourbillon Skull Asia Edition for which Malone paid $1 million. With such fondness for Richard Mille, we couldn’t think of a more fitting pen for the rapper than the RM S05 mechanical pen that would perfectly complement his watch collection.

Ye and Otto Hutt design08

Ye’s style is unmistakable and so is the relaxed air he displays every time he is caught on camera. Often caught in street style-inspired and well-matched outfits, the rapper has us thinking of his Otto Hutt design08. With a clean Bauhaus-inspired design, we think Ye would go everywhere with this pen that certainly suits his style.

Pharrell and Caran d’Ache 1010 Diamonds Limited Edition

The brain behind some of the most well-produced music at the moment, had his moment in the spotlight when he stood out with his slightly Kanye-like style, wearing huge chains like this $1 million custom N.E.R.D. chain. Even though the American rapper now has a much more defined identity, we think his taste in jewellery has remained the same, which is why the most appropriate pen for him would be the 18k solid white gold pen encrusted with over 850 diamonds signed by Maison Caran d’Ache. Such a piece would certainly accompany the other jewels the artist owns.

Cardi B and Montblanc Muses Elizabeth Taylor

We’re sticking around jewelry because this pairing is about rapper Cardi B and the latest Montblanc Muses edition inspired by the violet-eyed lady – Elizabeth Taylor. You might be wondering what these two artists could possibly have in common, well if Elizabeth Taylor was famous for the stunning jewellery she displayed at every appearance she made, it seems the American rapper also has a big appetite not only for jewellery but also for displaying it in public whenever she gets the chance as the American actress used to. Not to be outdone, but it would also be a shame to keep them in the safe. That’s why, as Elizabeth Taylor may have inspired Cardi B not only in terms of jewellery, we’d like to think that the recently launched Montblanc Muses line of pens would suit her perfectly.

Lil Wayne and Montblanc John Lennon LE Skeleton

For our latest pairing, we chose the Lil Wayne-released song “John,” which we believe was inspired by the late English singer, songwriter and peace activist John Lennon, who was assassinated in 1980 judging by the line “If I die today, remember me like John Lennon/Buried in Louis, I’m talkin’ all brown linen.” We can’t know for sure how much the American rapper was inspired by John Lennon or if he was just moved by his tragic assassination, but we think the artist would love to have a Montblanc John Lennon Limited Edition 70 Skeleton in his collection.
