Five football players and their matching pens

Just two days ago PSG v Real Madrid took place, and Mbappe’s goal – a right-footed shot from a difficult angle – made everyone’s evening, didn’t it? It was a great match indeed and even if Real Madrid fans got a little bit upset seeing the results, we are pretty sure the rematch is going to be more spectacular, that’s why we are all looking forward to it…  As you may have anticipated from reading the first few lines, we’re spending a little time in football territory today. In the spotlight we will be having five famous football players for whom we have selected five pens to suit them. Ready to discover today’s stars?

Lionel Messi and Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Limited Edition 98

Perhaps one of the world’s most talented and highly regarded footballers also has a passion for spectacular cars, as evidenced by his 2016 purchase at auction in Paris, considered at the time to be the most expensive car in the world. It’s a 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti driven by Sterling Moss in the Cuban Grad Prix in 1958 for which Messi paid 32 million euros. Just looking at this gorgeous Ferrari and knowing that Messi has an insane car collection makes us think that the best pen for him would be the Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Limited Edition 98 ( a pen that would complete his “toy” collection)

Cristiano Ronaldo and Caran d’Ache 1010 Timekeeper Limited Edition

Those who have studied Cristiano Ronaldo’s passions already know that off the pitch, the Portuguese player owns an impressive collection of watches including an 18 karat white gold Rolex GMT Master Ice festooned with 30 carats of diamonds, a Jacob & Co Grand Baguette Diamond and the most outstanding piece, from a totally different league, a Hublot Masterpiece MP-09 Tourbillon Bi-Axis priced at $1.2 million. With such a penchant for watchmaking, we think a great pen for Cristiano Ronaldo would be the limited edition 1010 Timekeeper signed by Maison Caran d’Ache. (It would also pair well with the player’s Hublot)

Neymar and Montegrappa Chaos Limited Edition

A player like no other when it comes to dribbling who always puts on a show during matches, Neymar is a party animal off the pitch with a rather eccentric and extravagant lifestyle that suits him perfectly.  Often surprised by cameras with out-of-the-ordinary outfits like the one that took us straight to the collection launched by Montegrappa in collaboration with Sylvester Stallone. We’re talking about the Chaos model, part of the Cult series, covered in 18k gold with a price tag of 48’500 euros for which we’re convinced the player would effortlessly pay to own it.

Kylian Mbappe and Montegrappa Uefa Champions League Limited Edition

Probably one of France’s most adored citizens, who became an international sensation after his incredible 2018 World Cup performance, Mbappe currently plays for PSG for which he has already scored 150 goals. His performances at the club are impressive and his love for France and hometown is unquestionable, the player often stating how much he wants to bring a Champions League title to PSG. That’s why we thought that the most suitable pen, which would also motivate him daily to aim for the title, would be the Montegrappa Uefa Champions League Limited Edition.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Montegrappa Purgatorio Limited Edition

Currently playing as a striker for AC Milan, Imbrahimovic has also performed in the past for other famous clubs such as PSG, Barcelona and Juventus and in addition to his excellent goalscoring skills, Zlatan stands out for his attitude and air of a god he often exudes on the pitch – it’s something so characteristic that fits him like a glove. And to suit his character, we chose Montegrappa Purgatorio, a limited edition recently launched by the Italian brand that we believe reflects Ibrahimovic so faithfully.
