Montegrappa Dante Alighieri: Paradiso – To complete the marvellous trilogy

Eagerly awaited, the last edition to complete Montegrappa’s Divina Commedia series is finally here. And it looks tremendous! Following Inferno and Purgatory, which delighted us with their incredibly detailed and intricate design, it’s time to feast our eyes on another masterpiece. That said, let’s unveil the new Montegrappa Dante Alighieri: Paradiso.

As in preceding editions, Montegrappa celebrates Dante’s final book in the most sumptuous way, depicting scenes in a manner never seen before. In fact, such vision and talent can only be honoured in this way and we are not surprised to notice how far the Italian brand has gone with the details as each edition has done nothing but amaze us.

Offered in two finishes, one in 18k gold and the other in silver, Paradiso faithfully traces Dante’s ascent through the nine celestial spheres while leaving behind the earthly sins of Inferno and Purgatorio, as illustrated by the coloured stones and intricate castings showcased along the barrel.

The coloured stones symbolise each celestial sphere detailed in Paradiso (Luna, Mercurio, Venere, Sole, Marte, Giove, Saturno). At the final sphere, finely sculpted, nine orders of interlocking angels soar above a sky-blue Montegrappite core. Above, three radiant discs standing for the source of divine light and the culmination of the poet’s journey. Isn’t it impressive how Montegrappa carefully studied every detail of Dante’s third canticle?

Moving on to the nib, handcrafted of 18k gold, it is exquisitely decorated with Dante’s profile and comes available in six different sizes: extra-fine, fine, medium, broad, double-broad and Stub 1.1.

Fans have no reason to worry as Montegrappa is offering this edition as a rollerball pen as well. Following the obsessive numerical structure of the Divine Comedy, this edition will be available in 333 copies worldwide for the sterling silver edition and 9 copies for the 18k gold version for both pens and rollerball pens.
