Pelikan’s tortoiseshell editions are such a delight, we can all agree on that, but of all editions the German brand has released over the years, this is by far the most elegant and aesthetically pleasing.
Speaking of design, we’d say it’s incredibly classy considering the predominant shades of black it features and slightly bold, as well, given the tortoiseshell pattern on the barrel (better emphasised under the light). In fact, from different angles, you can even capture some interesting visual effects from the beautiful interplay of black and white tones, and that’s probably what makes this edition so unique.
As a M605 model, the fountain pen will come equipped with a rhodium-plated 14k gold nib to match the silver finish of the other elements and comes available in extra-fine, fine, medium and broad sizes. To complete the edition, the fountain pen is accompanied by a ballpoint pen featuring the same design.
In terms of packaging, each writing instrument is supplied in a practical folding box and it sells for EUR 490 – the fountain pen, and EUR 340 – the ballpoint pen.

In conclusion, we must admit that this special edition has captured our imagination and is sure to find its place in many enthusiasts’ collections, however, we would have liked to see this beautiful design on an M800 or M1000 rather than on an M605, but who knows, maybe in the future…
